vacancies. OSSC will conduct the exam in three stages: written test, physical test,

Physical Examination



There is no syllabus prescribed
by the commission for the physical test. The candidates will be required to
undergo certain physical criteria to qualify for the next round. The commission
will ask the candidates to perform a few tasks to test their physical fitness
and performance in physical activities.



Viva Voce



There is no specified syllabus
for the interview round. The candidates need to be well prepared with questions
from the Current affairs of India and state, must have a good command of the English
language, and also must have sound knowledge of the Odia language.

The OSSC Excise Sub Inspector

Written Examination



The exam is conducted for 100
marks for 100 questions for a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The OSSC Excise

Physical Test



The candidates who have cleared
the Physical Measurement test are allowed to appear in the Physical test round.
The candidates who clear the following criteria can proceed to the next round
of the selection process.

Running one mile in 8 minutes
Cycling one mile in 5 minutes (On-Road)Low Hurdles in 2’6” height 110 meters
with 10 flights in 25 seconds Broad Jump – 12’length in 3 attempts Swimming

Running one mile in 10 minutes
Cycling one mile in 7 minutes (On-Road) Low Hurdles in 2′ height 80 meters with

Viva Voce



Candidates who have qualified for the
Physical Measurement and Physical Test rounds are qualified to attend the Viva
Voce round. This round is conducted for 10 marks. A certificate verification
round will be conducted before this. If the candidates fail to attend this
round, they will not be considered for the selection process.
